@capricornBass@PetainsTopGuy@willycarrier@EliasofNE Cremation by its nature is contrary to meditation of death, repugnant to the entirely natural respect for the dead, naked materialism -including the neglect of respect for the care of all bodies as valuable of themselves- necessary follows from its promotion.
@Noredlac_prime@willycarrier@EliasofNE@PetainsTopGuy There are numerous perfectly dignified practices of treating the bodies of the deceased that they can decide on. No one has a right to any abominable practice.
@willycarrier@EliasofNE@PetainsTopGuy For starters, you incinerate a person’s body, reducing even their bones to ashes and dust. All individuality & recognition of the person = nothingness. Totally undignified. Not to mention the manner in which the “remains” are treated afterward, often like a piece of home decor.
It's weird to me that Catholicism is essentially the only expression of Christianity that does its absolute best to offer DAILY corporate worship.
And this isn't something that exists only at Monasteries or in major cities, even surprisingly small towns have daily Mass.
Even where daily Mass isn't available, that is only owing to a lack of Priests. If the Church could do so, it would offer Mass 365 days/year at every single Parish Church on earth, and all Priests teach that while daily Mass is not required, it's an immensely valuable and desirable spiritual practice for all Christians.
I contend that if an alien arrived on earth on a mission to learn about Christianity, this would be one of the first things they'd notice. Like "why are half of all Christian Churches closed 6 days a week, but the other half hold worship every single day?"
Then again, it makes sense. It all comes down to how you define "worship." If "worship" means singing songs and reading the Bible, that's one thing. If "worship" means offering a sacrifice, that's another. And of course, at the old temples in the Old Testament, they were offering sacrifices daily, so it's only natural we'd continue re-presenting the most perfect Sacrifice ever made.
I am SO thankful for the daily Mass. I truly do not know where I'd be without it; I thank God that His Church unfailingly strives to keep the doors of its Parishes open as often as they humanly can!
@jack10274304@gurbunklesnunk@OrdinariateUSA@SelimKoru I don’t hate anyone, and if I did, it definitely wouldn’t be you.
Regardless of the tumult going on today, I have a great admiration for faithful Muslims. May God bless you as well.
@davidtaylor0390@lanikai871@JesusandWhatnot It’s biblical, it’s apostolic, it’s patristic. By your own erroneous criterion, you can’t even concede the Blessed Virgin is the Theotokos.
@davidtaylor0390@lanikai871@JesusandWhatnot Honor belongs to the virtue of justice, which is giving someone their due according to excellence. The intercessions of those souls alive in Heaven & Mary’s unique place in creation are derived from the apostolic deposit of faith. i.e. Paul, John —> Justin Martyr & Irenaeus.
