BREAKING: The US has directly struck the Dar Khweyn nuclear power plant construction site in southwestern Iran with multiple projectiles a few hours ago, per Tasnim.

This is the first direct US strike on an Iranian nuclear power plant, with Dar Khweyn being Iran's only commercial nuclear power reactor indigenously designed and built purely by Iran.

This also triggers Iran's IRGC and Yemen‘s warnings from yesterday and earlier this week that any further US strikes on Iranian civilian and power infrastructure would trigger Iran's comprehensive regional infrastructure destruction and Houthi Bab el-Mandeb closure.

Never forget: Trump chose this path. He tore up a working nuclear deal in 2018, in large part to satisfy major pro-Israel donors like Sheldon Adelson, then followed Netanyahu and the Israel lobby’s lead on Iran. The result is the catastrophe we are witnessing today.

Iran was at the table. He and his institute lobbied for war, and got the 12-Day War. The parties returned to the table. As the Omani mediator reported significant progress, they pushed for war again. The parties then signed the MoU and agreed to a permanent ceasefire — and they spent every day since working to kill it and resume hostilities.

Now that the entirely predictable has happened and Americans are dead, the prescription is more war, more‌ civilian targets, and a ground invasion that would fill far more coffins than this one.

And note what the first instinct was. Not "was this worth it." It was "here is how the President should sell it."
