That aside, ex players are great but many also frequently bring a tonne of bias and ref whingeing to commentary. Here in the SH particularly. I miss the “pro commentators” of yore who weren’t fanboys.

@ChalynRugby Interesting insight, although it has to be noted that in most of the positions listed, the comparison is between a first choice AB and a second or third choice Bok due to injuries.
For example at 10, BB should be playing most of the ABs minutes , while Manie wouldn’t for Boks.
