2nd Programme Steering Committee meeting of the Programme took place in Hargeisa on 11 March. Brought together government and FCDO stakeholders. Focused on progress in waste management, urban greening, and solar solutions in #Burao & #Wajaale. Strong partnerships drive impact.

Wajaale is growing fast, but so is its waste. With few garbage collection options, it piles up.

It is now working toward integrated waste management system - new trucks, trained workers, safer dumpsites, and stronger community action.

The Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation Mr. Abdulkadir Elmi Ali, opened the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Capacity Building Workshop, which aims to strengthen the capacity of federal, state, and local government institutions to understand PPP frameworks, identify viable opportunities, and apply them to support sustainable and inclusive urban development.

On the sidelines of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Capacity Building Workshop, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Mr. Abdulkadir Elmi Ali, held a meeting with Dr. Chris Pycroft, Development Director at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The meeting focused on the United Kingdom’s continued support to Somalia in the areas of stabilization, national reconciliation, local governance, decentralization, and institutional capacity building.
