We don't look at Mayor Mamdani as a "hostile leader" TBH. Granted we may not be very happy with his outspoken anti Israel rhetoric, nonetheless what people fail to understand is that Israel is very low on our litmus test to support or reject a politician. I'd say you share the sentiment of most Haredi Jews in the US. (Though many are not comfortable saying "I am a Zionist", but who cares about labels.)
