Today’s @MaleCityMV (MCC) weekly jalsa was again cancelled due to lack of quorum.

@MNazimaFaiz and I sought discussions on @MoCImv’s housing schemes, noting:

1) Despite RJ @MMuizzu’s incessant demands during his tenure as mayor to include MCC in the design, evaluation, and awarding of social housing plots, the council has been completely excluded from the process.

2) MCC should set up kiosks to assist residents with housing applications.

3) Married applicants should be allowed to apply even if a spouse has housing, especially in extenuating cases such as polygamous marriages.

14 of 18 councilors are from the ruling @PNC_Secretariat.

If social housing isn’t important enough to show up for, @MoosaAliJaleel, why contest for MCC seats at all?

- Over MVR 400,000 in unpaid bills

I along with lawyers met with 27 people today who lost 4,000 flats after being judged by new rules instead of those in place when they applied.

We’ll challenge this in every court. The Housing Ministry’s flimsy, retrospective criteria won’t stand.
