The State Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Ali Hagaa, attended the first meeting of the National Independence and Unity Days Organizing Committee for the 66th anniversary of June 26 and July 1.
The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali (Hosh), discussed the committee’s work plan, the importance of these national days, and preparations for marking them in a dignified and well-coordinated manner both inside the country and abroad.

Today in #Mogadishu, Director General @Moshireh of the Ministry of Internal Security attended a high-level meeting for the ONS-@UNMAS Roadmap, alongside Director General Abdimalik of the Office of National Security and UNMAS Chief Fran O'Grady. The Roadmap serves as a central Somali-led forum promoting a whole-of-government approach to mine action and explosive threat mitigation.
Discussions focused on operationalizing Somalia’s National Counter-IED Strategy and advancing the Weapons and Ammunition Management work plan. The meeting acknowledged the progress made by the Somali National Army and Somali Police Force in assuming responsibility for #C-IED, #EOD, and #WAM capabilities, while also highlighting SEMA's vital role in coordinating humanitarian mine action efforts for communities affected by explosive hazards.
Today, H.E. Gen. @Senfartaag, Minister of Internal Security of Somalia, accompanied by Director General @Moshireh, met with a delegation from @EUCAPSOM led by Head of Mission Kestutis Lancinskas at the headquarters of @MoIS_FGS in Mogadishu.
The discussions focused on strengthening security cooperation, technical assistance, and training for Somalia’s security institutions, including the Police, Darwish forces, and Coast Guard, as well as reviewing EUCAP’s support strategy to align with the priorities of the Federal Government of Somalia.
Both sides agreed to advance technical consultations to enhance coordination and support for Somalia’s security sector.
