⛺️ Those who refused to leave decided to create a camp - which soon became women-only.
📈 The population fluctuated from around 20 to hundreds of people until it was dismantled in 2000.
📢 We spoke to two protestors Rebecca Johnson & Chris Drake who were committed to the cause.
✊ It all began in August 81 when a few dozen women, plus a handful of men and children, walked from Wales to Berkshire to protest the stationing of U.S. missiles at the air base.
⛓️ After realising that it wouldn't be enough, many decided to chain themselves to its fences.
