We looked at the results of our science experiment today. We having been growing cress for a week. Each day we have filled out a Germination Diary. We found that you definitely do need water for seeds to germinate. π
Year 2 finally got the chance to paint their flower sculptures. They had a brilliant time doing this and the end results are amazing! Well done to everyone! βοΈπ₯³
Year 2 have had such an exciting morning! We used maps to walk around the village and also spotted several human and physical features. The children are becoming expert geographers before our eyes π₯³

After a very exciting time exploring all of the fantastic areas of Rockingham Castle, we are on our way back to school and ready to share some of our favourite parts of the trip! πβ lots of tired legs and brilliant stories to tell. π°
The tours are under way and the exploring around the castle has begun! We have been welcomed by a very grand entrance and lots of children have already spotted the arrowslits and where the portcullis would have been! π°
Yesterday the Year 2 children engaged in a 'Messy Afternoon' to introduce their new Topic of 'Muck, Mess & Mixtures'. It was safe to say that it was certainly very messy and an extremely fun and exciting afternoon had by all! π¨π§ͺπ
Year 2 have rounded off their poetry writing journey with some absolutely fantastic poppy shape poems, using alliteration and similes, in dedication to Remembrance Day! π
Year 2 got their computing caps on this week! We have explored algorithms using bee-bots and getting them from their beehive to flowers, building on our learning of the lovely βWaggle Danceβ that bees do to help direct other bees towards the best flowers! It was bee-rilliant! π
Year 2 have had a super week researching and learning about different minibeasts! The children were inspired by our stick insect visitors and showed their new curious owl learning behaviours to think of some excellent and inquisitive questions to ask about them! π¦
