Did you know Bear bile is used in some traditional medicines because it contains ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a compound with genuine medical uses for certain liver and gallbladder conditions. But bears aren't needed to produce UDCA. It can be manufactured as a purified medicine without extracting bile from bears.

Why does this matter?

Tens of thousands of bears have been affected by bear-bile farming across Asia. Bears can be kept for years while their bile is repeatedly extracted, with welfare investigations documenting chronic injuries, infections, deformities, inadequate housing and severe stress. So while UDCA can be a legitimate medicine, using bears as its source is not medically necessary, and the same animals can suffer repeatedly over many years.

I think I found the next Punch.

I was scrolling through the r/Punch subreddit and came across a post about Nina, a Japanese macaque that was born without hands.

At first I didn’t think much of it, but the more I looked into Nina, the more interesting the lore became.

Nina was born with a congenital limb condition, but she adapted to it and still climbs trees, plays around and lives her life normally. She didn’t let being different stop her from doing what she enjoys.

And this is where it gets interesting.

There is literally an entire subreddit dedicated to her: r/ninathemonkey.

It’s not some dead subreddit either. There are consistently posts and activity around Nina, meaning there is already an existing community and story attached to the character outside of crypto.

That’s exactly the kind of organic lore I look for in these coins.

Punch showed how far a simple character with a strong story can go when the community gets behind it. With Nina, you already have the lore, the recognizable character and an existing community that people can build around.

And the community is actually showing up.

We completely took over the vamp and pushed to a $400k ATH. People can say whatever they want about farming, but I’ve personally been down money on this and don’t even have supply.

I’m doing this because I genuinely believe in the community and the story.

The most important part to me is that this doesn’t feel forced.
