Basically me. Parents have been in the US since the early 90s, and as a 2000s kid growing up with tons of multicultural friends and communities, always thought my mother’s warnings of islamists and left wing activists as just boomer, outdated talks that wouldn’t carry over into my generation.

Flash forward, seeing my own friends go down radicalized paths, become religiously intolerant, I realized that if i don’t stand for my culture who will?

Hindus constantly are told to let go and forgive, but crimes against people like us, simply for just having a different interpretation of faith, being constantly swept under the rug - and if we do call it out, we’re being old fashioned, or Indian, or being Hindu extremists.

Seeing events like Phaglam be pushed aside, or constantly being told that we need to be tolerant when we don’t receive that back.
