If you knew anything about character art you'd understand why this argument doesn't make the point you are trying to make.
Here is my take as someone who did characters for a living once:
Characters need to be appealing because you either want the player to be that character or be with that character.
There is an argument that the obsession of games with making everything realistic also leads down the path of ugly characters because now you have the uncanny valley plus trying to match a real person instead of an idealized one.
@94Kiraly Yes then this is how you end up with a really high budget for a game. Why is that a problem? We keep having CEOs telling us that microtransactions and liveservices are a must because game costs are too high.
