We used our oracy skills and worked in fish-bowls to discuss moral dilemmas in RE. We used our learning of Jesusβ teachings to discuss what we would do in a tricky situation, as well as a Christian. #MRPALearning#MRPARE#MRPAOracy@MRPA_RE
In maths today we used concrete cubes to explore how cubed numbers create a cube. For example we found 27 is a cube number as it has 3 dimensions of 3 (3 x 3 x 3). Some great oracy discussions about shape and integers. #MRPALearning#MRPAMaths@MRPA_Maths
In science last week we conducted an experiment on water resistance. We found that shapes with streamlined designs and less surface area have less water resistance and fall quicker! #MRPALearning#MRPAScience@MRPA_Science
What a great autumn/winter movie night after school for year 5 pupils. They enjoyed watching Natvity, while socialising with their friends eating popcorn and drinking yummy hot chocolate! Well done on such a positive night year 5 πΏπ¬ #MRPALearning@MRPAyear5b
5A enjoyed their trip to the cinema yesterday! What a great experience for all the children, even if they got a sugar rush πΏThank you to all the adults that helped organise or came on the trip with us! #MRPALearning
Last week in English we used a back-to-back oracy activity to work on using descriptive details when describing a mythical creature! The results show how vivid detail can help your reader/listener! #MRPALearning#MRPAOracy#MRPAEnglish@MRPA_English
We challenged ourselves to 25 laps of the Astro for Children in Need 2025. We even braved the rain and wind from storm Claudia! Well done 5A π₯³ #MRPALearning#childreninneed2025@BBCCiN
Following on from our learning about multicultural Britain through Black history month, we used our oracy skills to set up a debate session. From the debate, the summary is that multiculturalism does make Britain stronger! π #MRPALearning#MRPAOracy#MRPAHistory@MRPA_History
Some responses to our first historical enquiry into Ancient Greece. Our question has been βWhat was life like in Ancient Greece and how do we know?β #MRPALearning#MRPAHistory@MRPA_History
Weβve been getting stuck into our smart school sessions these past couple of weeks! Great opportunities to build our proof of listening and leading discussions! #MRPALearning#MRPAOracy
5A really enjoyed their first cricket session today, they worked hard as a team and practiced batting and fielding! Thanks to Mia our coach, we look forward to more sessionsπ @MRPASportAndPe@club_lancashire#MRPALearning#MRPAPE
We have been practicing geometric patterns inspired by Ancient Greek pottery designs. We used sponge and brushes. Our skills practice will help when we come to painting our Greek pots! #MRPALearning#MRPAArt@MRPA_arts
World mental health day 2025! We celebrated by wearing yellow to show that every young mind is important and that at MRPA we are there for each other! πππ #MRPALearning#MRPAPSHE
Athens or Sparta? What a debate was had in year 5 last week! We built on our knowledge of two famous city-states in Ancient Greece and split the class in half to debate which side was better and why. Great use of linguistic skills in oracy! #MRPALearning#MRPAHistory#MRPAOracy
In science, in our Earth and Space unit, we investigated shadows based on the Earths orbit and rotation around the sun. We discussed how sundials are an ancient way of telling the time and help us understand more about how the Earth moves #MRPALearning#MRPAScience@MRPA_Science
In art we have continued our learning of ancient Hreek pottery and have started to think about the uses and styles of Greek pottery. Our historical skills our helping our questioning when looking at artefacts.π΅οΈ #MRPALearning#MRPAArt#MRPAHistory@MRPA_arts@MRPA_History
In our PSHE unit we have been exploring mental health and healthy lifestyles. We used a traverse to develop our physical oracy skills when discussing topics. After the traverse some summarisers agreed that we can feel conflicting emotions. #MRPALearning#MRPAOracy#MRPAPSHE
