Unplugging ARPAnet since 1975. Interested in the intersections of emergent technologies. I see tech as a change agent for good. All your base r belong to me.
@nearyd Both helps and hurts. Florida hasn’t been a swing state in some time. It’s only gone further from that over the past 20-25. years. MAGA inclined folk are emboldened and gps deeper down with all of those public displays. But for the rest, the many quiet ones, it’s a turn off.
@nearyd Ah! Didn’t understand we were going for ones that were still a living city in or over the original footprint. That’s a harder ask and I would have to think about it. Might be Mexico City. 🤔
@nearyd 3/3 Venture south and probably the Olmec ‘city’ of La Venta is in the mix. 12 sq miles of city with a 2km dense urban core. From 600-400BCE.
I count these nations and people befoeee I count any colonial cities.
@nearyd I think this has yet to be established. There we’re so many pre Colombian ‘nations’ of people within the single footprints of what we see as Canada, US and Mexico. Even the Caribbean isles.
@RickMcCargar@kbezzari@BLAINDMASKS1 @lincharris9420 @RpsAgainstTrump This WSJ ‘opinion’ misleads from the jump: “Although the indictment against Donald Trump doesn’t cite the Presidential Records Act, the charges are predicated on the law.” No. He is being charged under the Espionage Act.

@ntm91307@MericasPlumber1@EdKrassen Got it. You and I agree here: “I fully expect you’re the latter….”
Your temperament makes it hard to believe you have the credentials you suggest. But enjoy your wall.
@ntm91307@MericasPlumber1@EdKrassen ? Thanks for your reply. What do you know about ‘how “nature” works’? Do you have a degree in something relevant to nature?
@EdKrassen That thinking of hers is so broken. No heaven and this is the end game? Then you work harder to keep this place good, people and environment. For non-believers, the stakes are much higher and the responsibility to do right is much higher. Ethics are MORE important.
@ntm91307@MericasPlumber1@EdKrassen You’re entitled to your opinion. But nature doesn’t work that way. If your inclined to be gay or straight, then that’s what you do. For perspective, a lifetime of being taught that being anything other than straight is wrong/broken, gay and lesbian are still just that. From birth
@MericasPlumber1@EdKrassen I’m not an education pro, but I see the subtleties necessary, helping kids through a huge transitional time from grade to jr, to high school. But books won’t influence a kid born straight, into choosing to be something they are not. It just doesn’t work that way.
@WesternMigrant1@GoodChoices8 @StevensonSamson @arl_with_a_K@nice1959@EdKrassen@Target I see your direction but you are poorly conflating personality profiles. None of those three things are inherently linked. Long histories of straight men being damaged goods, as much or well beyond gay men. Straight average men have done drag through ages and cultures.
@WesternMigrant1@GoodChoices8 @StevensonSamson @arl_with_a_K@nice1959@EdKrassen@Target This is incorrect. There are at least 7 Christian denominations that ordain women. There are other religions as well. You can argue over the nomenclature of priest/clergy/pastor but the role is the same.
@WesternMigrant1@GoodChoices8 @StevensonSamson @arl_with_a_K@nice1959@EdKrassen@Target I understand what you asked. Leading questions. Obtuse question. A confused question that lacks the necessary subtlety a conversation around sex/gender/sexuality requires. Also you are trying to steer around the points I made. Not a good effort.
