@JamesHumbers @roydevers @alexmasso I was referring more to the tone that you utilised in your previous reply. You just didn’t seem particularly open to discussing my take on it.
@JamesHumbers “Production”, “songwriting” and “improvisation” is all composition. Why is it a problem? If we define composition as the process of creating music, then what do each of those categories add that isn’t encompassed in the term “composition”. To expand the existing is surely better.
@JamesHumbers @roydevers @alexmasso I think that the concepts are actually really good and a great way for students and analysers more broadly to focus their listening on particular elements of the music. Additionally, with study of the concepts, it provides students with a vast vocabulary helpful in many situation
