🚨 U.S. forces launch mine clearance mission in the Strait of Hormuz.

Today, CENTCOM deployed the USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG 121) and USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) into the Arabian Gulf to start clearing sea mines laid by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Here's what makes this significant: The U.S. isn't waiting for a deal. While Iran continues to leverage the Strait of Hormuz as a negotiation tool, threatening to disrupt one of the world's most critical trade corridors, the U.S. is actively securing it.

Admiral Brad Cooper announced a new safe passage is being established and will be shared with the maritime industry to restore the free flow of commerce. Underwater drones are expected to join in the coming days.
