@chesscoachandra Nf5 looks good, bringing another piece into the attack before dropping the Rh8+ hammer. If gxf5??, fun things happen: Rh8+ Bxh8 Qxh8+ Kf7 g6+ Kxg6 Qg8+ Qg7 exf5#, or Rh8+ Kf7 Qh5+ Ng6 Qxg6+ Kxg6 exf5+ Kf7 g6#, for example.
@MeerMaurits Qxb6+ axb6 Bd4+ Kh1 Nf2+ Kg1 Nd3+ Kh1 Nxc1 Bc4 Bxb6 looks decent 😁. It’ll take a while to retrieve the knight, but it’s not in any danger.
This gives me no pleasure, but given Elon Musk's history, claims, and behaviors, I can't let Richard's "welfare of the world at heart" line pass without comment.
While watching Elon's rise to greater power (and the fawning of his fans), I started keeping notes. Thread (1)
@ImShahinyan Ok, got it. 1. Kf8. If Kg2, Rxf2+ Kg3 Rb3# (or discovered mate after Kh1). Against any promotion, 2. Rf2 is the reply, with 3. Bf3# being the big unstoppable threat (except by Qxd1 or Rxd1, both of which just allow 3. Rxd1#)
King has to go to f8 to prevent queen checks after Rf2
@ImShahinyan I thought there was a beautiful pawn interference idea with 1. d3 (preventing both a later Bb5+ and Qxb1-Qe4 block), forgetting that it also interferes with my own necessary Rb3# in one line. Hmm… 🤔
@TristanSnell Weird wording. I assume you mean more than 50% voted either for Harris OR for “any other third party or write in”, which is a pretty meaningless statement.
@GMJacobAagaard Rxd3 is just objectively better here. Easy win after that, those pawns are supported to the 5th rank before black’s king can get anywhere close
