@nope_its_lily Thanks for sharing! Highlights the challenge of being both simultaneously right about a trade’s outcome AND in the right size is incredibly difficult
@dampedspring Thank you for another great thread Andy, are there any specific momentum indicators you prefer pls? For instance I like MACD but I know others prefer donchian channel breaks (ie new highs)
@DiMartinoBooth@apolloglobal Interesting perspective! Is it wise to interpret short term rate forwards as point forecasts?…at best they represent the average expectation from a distribution which is often bimodal…also other technical factors such as excess liquidity can distort them?
@MichaelAArouet@pietphc More euros (read govt deficits, debts and current account deficits) and less everything else (cheap gas, foreign labour, natural resources) …the rate is the equaliser..
@TaviCosta Aren’t these megacaps also swimming in mountains of cash too tho? And don’t the big fish eat the little ones during downturns and exit recessions more dominant?
@donnelly_brent Where was spot inflation in 2019? Printing press is kerosine at this juncture.. SVB highlights the importance of confidence in finance…
@MacroAlf liquidity issue rather than a solvency one atm…margin on swaps (immediate) vs ability to liquidate long bond portfolios rapidly into QT=> vicious circular price spiral

@BurggrabenH@kittysquiddy@Alpen_R Does anyone know the size of collateral being pledged by energy companies pls? Keen to gauge the read across to repo markets in general..Sweden's w/e announcement didn't have much impact so far..
@InvestorHyena@elerianm@FT@guardian …if you set the end date of the chart = date when the price last broke the band, you can bet the line was still within the vol bands on the day..
2/2
@InvestorHyena@elerianm@FT@guardian These are vol bands not trend channels, they look good on charts but change coincidentally with price and widen when you need them most

@agurevich23 Top 5 trading book I have read, immediately compelled to read your earlier book TNPT.. great insights and supporting rationale invaluable, will be interesting if the criteria survive should the term premium trend turn but the notion of concurrent necessity seems very robust
