As of this morning there are still 33,835 Georgians without power due to Hurricane #Idalia. Crews are working nonstop to work to restore power, so please be patient as they work to get as many customers back online quickly. #recovery

GEMA/HS and the GA Department of Public Safety are providing support to our VOAD partners, The Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief and The Salvation Army, in operating a field kitchen in Valdosta, GA. Up to 15,000 meals a day will be provided to Georgians impacted by #Idalia.

Georgia Forestry Commission is one of our partners helping get supplies to South Georgia after #Idalia. MREs, tarps, bottled water and other supplies are being transported and distributed where they're needed most. These partnerships make a big difference during a disaster!

Today, I am asking @FEMA for a disaster declaration to provide assistance to Georgians and counties impacted by Hurricane Idalia. Marty and I will also be in South Georgia this afternoon to view storm damage firsthand and to let these families know that we are in this with them.
