@ProfessorStacie I learned that it takes much more than just the basic interventions you would think, children with any exceptionality also need intervention in the form of support groups of like abled people to be able to relate to and form a safe space with.
@ProfessorStacie Early intervention is so important to the growth and successfulness of children and their families. Honestly, I was very ignorant to interventions. I have learned so much. I really liked learning about the Special Needs Organizations.
@ProfessorStacie Chaos and a classroom are two things that don’t mix. It’s extremely important that the set up of the space serves the students, especially those with exceptionalities. A space set apart from the rest to act as a calming environment would be used as a benefit in a classroom.
@ProfessorStacie It is definitely a key factor in any position you have to know what is going on, & in my opinion even more important in education where you make such an impact on your students. Inclusion cannot happen without understanding.
@ProfessorStacie Being a good teacher to me means putting the children first and being there for them. From what I have noticed about myself so far I think I am a "Guide by the Side."
@ProfessorStacie The most surprising thing to me was how much work is required outside of the classroom. The planning, grading, and more. I knew there would be work outside of class but I didn't know there would be so much.
@ProfessorStacie Each student is an individual and needs different things, so when you connect with them and build a relationship, trust follows. Which trust in the foundation for effort from your students.
@ProfessorStacie I am worried about finding a job in the area I want to teach since there is normally only one FACS teacher in every school. #introteach101
@ProfessorStacie I want to be remembered as a voice for those students that don't always have one, while at the same time teaching those how to find that voice.
