Everyone expects that there can be adequate safety testing to ensure the public, and it is greed and/or malevolence that prevents this. It's neither. It's statistics. Do you know what kind of study is needed to determine a drug's safety? I bet even most docs don't know.

A 2 million subject study is needed to ensure the safety of a drug. Just the initial studies for one drug would cost hundreds of billions.

@DaveW32163975 @DavidPollackUSA I can't say about this particular case, I guess, but KCl has been typically used, in executions by lethal injection, since the early 1980's. I expect we will find better ways to execute. We're good at that.

Because of the politically sensitive nature of my work 30 yrs ago, I was subjected to defamatory news articles, radio talk shows arguments, and even a 60 Minutes type television expose on me. 2 lawsuits, several committee interrogations, a fabricated case, complete with false testimony against me, medical supervision for 2 years, and a nice public inquest. My lawyer at the time was the biggest medical legal lawyer in Canada. He told me that I was the victim of a witchunt. He reported that the errors of omission and commission reached the level of professional misconduct...meaning their medical licences should be revoked. A few yrs later, I was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the physicians of Ontario for my work. A bit of a contradiction, n'est pas?
If you knew what tactics they used to gather intelligence against me, you wouldn't believe it.
Unfuckingbelievable what they did. Like a bad movie script, involving stereotypical perpetrators.
