Maybe. But when you add the following factors to the picture, it begs for transparency: (1) I spoke to senior staff who worked at MorningStar for more than a decade who had never heard of Shunem; (2) I have spoken to senior staff who have confirmed the re-routing of large amounts of money donated for a specific cause (i,e., wells in Africa) that were diverted to unknown endpoints; (3) MorningStar has fundraised for more than TWO DECADES for a camp that still does not exist - see separate X post for details. Further, someone extremely close to Rick told me in late 2024 that she would look into these issues and get back to me. Guess what? Silence.

Thanks for flagging. Of course I know there are some genuine and loving artists in the Christian music world. I’d really love to see some of them come together for survivors. We organize charity concerts for natural disasters and kids in poverty in other countries, but for the kids sitting in the pew next to us……

Earlier this year I asked a few Christian artists if they’d be part of a benefit concert for victims of sexual abuse in church. One said “no, it would interfere with ticket sales in that market.” The other never responded. The Tait horrors—and so many other stories—make it hard not to wonder what could happen if “Christian” artists cared more about survivors than sales.

Happy to report that yet another effort by MorningStar, Rick Joyner, David Yarnes, and Douglas Lee to have a lawsuit against them dismissed was denied - this time by a different judge. The defense counsel had to try and make his (ridiculous) argument with a loud marching band outside his window. It was almost as if God himself couldn’t stand the sound of the lawyer’s words and sent a cacophony of voices and drums and trumpets to drown him out. #morningstartoo #churchtoo

His serial sexual abuse and destructive witness caused many to walk away from faith, stop praying, and lose trust in a loving God.
