I think I just found one of the wildest possible endgames for $GME warrants.
Hear me out.
Thursday, October 29: GME WS stops trading after the close.
Friday, October 30: Warrants expire at 5 PM.
Now here's where things get interesting.
Section 4.06 of @GameStop's actual warrant agreement allows the company to LOWER the strike price without warrant-holder approval, subject to applicable rules.
Imagine @RyanCohen announces Friday morning that the strike has been reduced from $32 to $20.
At Tuesday's closing price of $23.36, warrants previously headed toward expiration worthless would suddenly have $3.36 of intrinsic value EACH.
Nearly 59 million warrants were originally issued.
That's potentially hundreds of millions in warrant value appearing almost overnight.
But here's the insanity.
The warrants have already stopped trading.
Broker deadlines are approaching.
Adjusted GME1 options actually include warrants in their deliverables.
Suddenly, the entire market has to reassess exercise decisions, derivative exposures, delivery obligations and hedging.
Does that trigger buying pressure? A liquidity scramble? A massive repricing of risk?
Or does the system absorb it?
I'm not predicting this happens.
I'm asking whether Wall Street has considered what happens if Ryan Cohen doesn't need @GameStop to reach $32.
What if he brings the strike price down to @GameStop instead?
Read that again.
