@BradEBonham More than 98% of the United States is not Mormon. If you need a bigger sample size for people who are happy outside of the church there are plenty of people.
@Dan_Dan_OR @RickyOrtega___@TrueHalfCrack @tkddroid @hodgetwins When I was in high school the handbook still said interracial marriage was frowned on. What was being taught at the time was widely accepted by members and in LDS books, talks, references etc. NOW it’s denied and a clearer picture but that’s very, very new.
@TrueHalfCrack @tkddroid @hodgetwins Don’t they still teach endless celestial sex with multiple wives? Maybe packaged less directly. But unless I’m missing something polygamy is still a part of LDS afterlife as well as procreation.
@Dan_Dan_OR @RickyOrtega___@TrueHalfCrack @tkddroid @hodgetwins The curse of Cain came from 2 different stake presidents for me, as well as members, Sunday school etc. was very consistently taught.
@tkddroid @hodgetwins LDS church is rebranding to a focus on Christ but the past teachings are engrained in the members. The new changes may not align with this but the past teachings absolutely did. Today’s LDS church is not the same as it was 50 years ago and even 10 years ago.
@tkddroid @hodgetwins It’s pretty accurate… I was taught all of this as an active LDS member attending every week.
The denial is new, glad President Nelson made changes in the last few years, but majority of what he talked about are common beliefs for members.
