We now have a confirmed reason why OpenAI pulled out of Sora and it was as most of us expected - because they needed to concentrate all of their compute and product capacity into their next generation of models and automated agents.

They want to supply electricity to the grid during the day, when demand is low, and have it offset at night while getting payed for excess units produced.
In essence, they have become the very IPPs they once condemned.

It was year 2013, Pakistan was drowning in 8 to 12 hours of load shedding. Industry was limping. Public anger was volcanic. The economy was bleeding productivity.
The Government of Pakistan faced a brutal trade-off:

Expensive power now.

The same people who once criticized IPPs have now effectively become IPPs themselves. They want the government to maintain highly inefficient policies because those policies serve their interests at the expense of taxpayers and the less fortunate.

Citizens, fed up with high utility bills, falling solar panel prices, and generous gov policies, began installing solar panels in droves. Paying consumers started exiting the grid one by one, leaving the gov and lower income consumers to shoulder the financial burden.
