Today, @YCCUganda has commenced the Regional Host Organization Due Diligence Assessments, an important step towards building a strong, accountable, and impactful national youth climate movement.

With @MUWEI_UG in the Eastern region today, the assessments will provide an opportunity to engage with our Regional Host Organizations, better understand their institutional capacities, explore regional #opportunities and challenges, strengthen partnerships, and align our collective efforts towards advancing youth-led climate action across #Uganda.

As we continue building a decentralized structure for #climate governance and #youth participation, these engagements will help lay the foundation for stronger collaboration, effective program implementation, and meaningful impact within communities.

Last week, the MUWEI ED joined partners such as ALBOH, district departments, & World Vision for a joint monitoring exercise in Butaleja on Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). FMNR remains a powerful approach for regreening, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience.

We take this opportunity to appreciate Youth Climate Council (YCC) Uganda for the trust in MUWEI that has led to this partnership. We are privileged to host YCC Uganda Secretariat for the Eastern Region and eager for the greater collaboration.

Building a truly national youth climate movement begins with strengthening local leadership and community-rooted action.

Today, we are proud to introduce @MUWEI_UG as the #YCCUganda Regional Host Organization for Eastern Uganda.

For us, this is more than a partnership. It is part of a broader roadmap toward building stronger regional coordination, empowering youth voices at the grassroots level, and ensuring that climate action is driven by the realities and priorities of communities themselves.

Eastern Uganda continues to face growing environmental and climate-related challenges, but within these communities are passionate young people already leading change through advocacy, sustainability initiatives, and community mobilization.

Through this collaboration, we aim to strengthen youth engagement, expand climate awareness, support localized environmental action, and create stronger pathways for young people to actively participate in shaping sustainable futures within their communities.

As @YCCUganda continues growing across the country, regional host organizations such as @MUWEI_UG will play a critical role in connecting communities, amplifying youth voices, and driving impactful #ClimateAction from the ground up.

This is only the beginning of a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive youth climate movement across Uganda.
