The carbon market is evolving.
Under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, nations are formalising how credits are authorised, traded & counted toward climate targets, a shift from voluntary offsets to national climate infrastructure.

The climate crisis is real. So is the progress being made to tackle it.
For #WorldEnvironmentDay, we sat down with two climate scientists to separate fear from fact & unpack the latest science.
The world is moving in the right direction, but we need faster action #NowForClimate: https://t.co/fh1HeyvHmr
More than a decade after the Paris Agreement, greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, accelerating climate change.
Humanity still has time to act #NowForClimate and curb these emissions.
Ahead of #WorldEnvironmentDay, here's how you can take action https://t.co/uLHCWFXQ1V
Our planet is sending us signals.
Too wet. Too dry. Too hot.
But listen, listen again.
Do you hear something else?
This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we turn the volume up on the urgent signals the Earth is sending and how, together, we can act #NowForClimate.

Climate change goes far beyond the environment. It affects public health, economies, infrastructure, and communities worldwide.
Over the past 50 years, extreme weather events have caused more than 2 million deaths and US$4.3 trillion in economic losses.
It’s time to act #NowForClimate: https://t.co/pF78hkRMBk

Timely action is critical to protect children facing malnutrition & disease outbreaks.
In Karamoja, support to @UNICEFUganda through the ESA Humanitarian Fund, managed by @OCHAFunds is helping strengthen early detection of malnutrition & access to life-saving response.
In Karamoja, hear how @WFP is helping caregivers fight child malnutrition
With this support from #ESAHF, in #Uganda, WFP aims to protect 30,000 women and children from malnutrition. 🙏@OCHAFunds

As we prepare for #WED2026, we recognize the role of school-led tree-growing programs like the Nehemiah Initiative in advancing Uganda’s Climate ambitions through her Nationally Determined Contributions #NDCs. These efforts support the country’s commitment to keep greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at or below 24.7% by 2030.
They also nurture environmentally conscious citizens while contributing to ecosystem restoration, carbon sequestration, and community resilience - key priorities under the Paris Agreement that calls for collective action to limit global warming and promote sustainable, low emission development pathways.

In fulfilment of Article 4 of the Paris Agreement, Uganda's NDC 2.0 committed to an ambitious economy-wide mitigation target of 24.7% reduction below Business As Usual (BAU) levels by 2030.
As NDC 3.0 is being finalised, and as we build up towards #WorldEnvironmentDay, we highlight how @UNDPs collaboration with the @GovUganda and other partners in emissions reduction is also transforming lives across Uganda. 🇺🇬☀️
From solar-powered health centres and water systems, to modern markets, border posts, and agricultural facilities, these investments are expanding access to clean energy, strengthening resilience, and advancing Uganda's transition to a low-carbon future.
Here's how⬇️

Through the Uganda Host and Refugee Community Empowerment Project, @UNDP, @KoicaUganda, @GovUganda and @MOFAkr_eng 🇰🇷 have established solar-powered modern markets in Lamwo, Adjumani, and Obongi districts. ⚡️
These markets are creating safer, more productive environments for business, strengthening livelihoods, and fostering social cohesion between refugees and host communities. 🤝

@Y4BioClimate Communities in Uganda can restore wetlands and forests through tree planting, protecting wetlands from encroachment, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and educating people about conservation. Working together with local leaders, schools, government agencies, and envirnmt groups
@Y4BioClimate I think the wetland and forest question has become a self destruction activity by those that neighbours and benefit from them. Land fragmentation, poor land usage, and alot ignorance. We can only restore if we stop degradation by sounding the dangers more than the achievements.
