@darrenrovell @itsgeoffwilson True and let’s be honest with ourselves, the way the hobby works now, LCS act as flippers as well. Until they get a special allocation, they are taking away sealed from collectors just to resell it to collectors for double the price.

Here’s what I see: SGC (really PSA lite) used this increase as a test balloon. It failed. We, the card community, did not take it well. They got ripped from sea to shining sea. Knowing their attempt to squeeze us more has not been well received, they issued this backpedal. “No no no. Sorry. We didn’t tell you the whole story. This is temporary! It’ll change soon!” I’ve never graded with SGC anyway, so I don’t care what they charge. I’m almost done with all things PSA also, so basically, Collectors Inc. If CGC’s values in the market can get close to PSA’s level, I’m in 100% at CGC. Today? I have hundreds of cards in card savers, waiting for the whole dang thing to figure itself out so we can return to our version of normal around here.

@not_jaspers @baseball_cards This is what I have been saying and I have been getting so much crap from card businesses. It’s true though. Why do you expect me to sell you my cards at 50-80% value but buy your sealed for 200% markup. The business is built on scalping and scamming your customers

@CardsMax He’s not wrong though… you act like there aren’t card shows / trade nights and private sales. Card shops are just scalpers🤷‍♂️ don’t offer me 50-80% on my cards, then try and sell me sealed for 200%, and act like you are doing the hobby a favor.

@CardsJakes The thing is he isn’t wrong… if you are going to offer me 80% on my cards but then charge me 200% on sealed, then screw you. Card shops don’t offer much to the average collector these days. Just a scalper with a storefront. Until that changes stores will keep closing

@OffDaHook35 Biggest problem in the hobby right now is Topps & card shops/scalpers. Topps needs separate relationships & allocations specifically for shops. Shops buying from the same limited drops as collectors only takes products out of collectors’ hands, just so they can resell at markup

@Pittsburgh1Pete It’s starts with us not supporting them anymore… it’s pretty simple. Yeah a lot of people are doing this for profit but any collector… if they can just get the eBay authentication, they are beyond happy. Also human vs computers / scanning… I mean, it’s a no brainer🤷‍♂️

@slabfactory_ty @PSAcard Exactly why it’s hilarious that people are so committed to them 😂First off the slabs are hideous. Also the fact that a grade makes them more money on pieces is a massive conflict of interest. eBay page.. customer service.. lack of why card got its grade. It’s end is near
