Today, #Russia attacked #Ukraine’s greatest Christian shrine with missiles—the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Russia has destroyed hundreds of Ukrainian churches and has no intention of stopping its genocide of Ukrainians. Russia is evil, and it must be decisively stopped by force.

This session examines how the Kremlin uses the Russian Orthodox Church to legitimize its war against Ukraine, undermine Ukrainian identity, and suppress dissent. Speakers will address repression in Russia and occupied territories, persecution of religious practices and beliefs, and the human rights costs of making the church subservient to an autocratic government, with implications for accountability and religious freedom advocacy.

1️⃣ Freedom of religion/belief and equal treatment – ensuring individuals and communities can practice their faith freely and in an environment of fairness for all.
2️⃣ Character development – fostering virtues like respect, humility, reciprocity, and empathy.
