A Toronto police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty this morning.
My deepest condolences to the officer’s family, loved ones, colleagues, and all of the Toronto Police Service.
Today my thoughts are with them, and with all officers in uniform who selflessly put themselves in harm’s way to keep Canadians safe.
@CTVNews What a complete joke this entire process has been. How many of these now banned firearms have been used in crimes since this program was initiated 6 years ago? I’m thinking none. Not one.
The federal government’s decision to extend its firearms amnesty once again is an admission that its firearm confiscation scheme is ineffective and deeply flawed.
Ottawa should make the amnesty permanent and abandon its plan to confiscate legally acquired firearms from law-abiding Canadians. Gun confiscation programs will never stop gang violence, cross-border gun smuggling, and the criminal misuse of firearms. We will continue to use every lawful tool at our disposal to shield Albertans from any form of firearms confiscation.
Alberta believes in a principled, evidence-based approach to firearms policy that targets violent criminals and illegal guns, not responsible firearms owners who follow the law.
(And yes. That is a picture of me skeet shooting with friends.)
The Liberals were forced to announce an extension of the amnesty of their failed gun grab, because their costly useless program has been challenged all the way to the Supreme Court.
Law-abiding firearms owners are not the cause of crime in Canada. In fact, virtually every province and territory in Canada is refusing to participate in the Liberal government's buyback program.
Yet, instead of scrapping this failed program and focusing instead on stopping criminals, gangs and illegal firearms, the Liberal government fully intends to continue pouring taxpayer dollars into this costly boondoggle that has zero public safety benefit.
Why are the Liberals so determined to keep this policy alive?
Because this policy was never about public safety — it was about satisfying an ideological agenda.
Quebec’s police are phoning the spouses of licensed gun owners—not because of any complaint or threat, but simply because someone in the home legally owns a firearm.
This isn’t about targeting criminals. It’s about treating responsible, heavily-vetted Canadians as suspects—despite the existing red flag laws, background checks, and ongoing screening.
Our friends at Rebel News ask the right question: If all these laws are already in place to prevent violence, why are police investigating people who haven’t done anything wrong?
Where does it end? Will lawful gun ownership always be treated as a crime-in-waiting?
We stand for evidence-based policy, not political theatre or blanket suspicion of Canada’s most scrutinized citizens.

Under the Liberals, precisely no days are against gun violence.
They have taken measures at every step of the way to go lax on gang members and thugs who terrorize our communities.
Instead they target law abiding gun owners with useless bans and threaten the safest citizens with jail time.
If they’re serious about keeping people safe they should do precisely the opposite of the last 11 years.
(1/4) On the National Day Against Gun Violence, we reflect on the impact of gun violence on victims, survivors, families and communities across Canada.
Strengthening our laws is an important part of the #GC efforts to help make communities safer. #NDAGV
Heinous criminals who will never see the light of day are using the parole system to "get off" on re-traumatizing victims and their families.
@jeffkibblecml's Bill C-235 puts victims and their families by increasing parole eligibility threshold for the very worst offenders.
Congratulations to Our New President, Mike Duynhoven!
We are thrilled to announce that Mike Duynhoven has stepped up as the new President of the CSSA!
As our long-standing Vice-President, Mike is the mastermind who bridged the gap between grassroots gun owners and the Canadian firearms industry, creating networks that fund our legal battles and public relations campaigns.
Mike’s understanding of the bureaucratic traps faced by PAL/RPAL holders and his hands-on dedication makes him the perfect choice to guide CSSA forward.
We have the facts. We have the willpower. And under President Mike Duynhoven, the CSSA will continue to fiercely defend our outdoor heritage, culture of safety and personal responsibility, and Canada's sport shooting traditions.
Congratulations to the next Premier of BC, @KerryLynneFindl.
A clear demonstration that a movement conservative, grassroots focused campaign is the way to deliver a victory.
It is becoming increasingly clear that the Prime Minister's Office is not setting the rules on its own turf on Parliament Hill, while the Chinese delegation appears to be exerting significant influence over media access arrangements.

Tearing down the notice of a missing 14 year old autistic girl, simply because she is Jewish, is evil on so many levels that I don’t even know where to start.
Vile hatred against Jews is moving from an ugly sentiment to dangerous actions.
We must end this now. And make Canada a safe place for Jews and all people.
Judy Trinh "And you've said previously that there are guardrails in place in Canada against foreign interference yet you're on your government has not released publicly the RCMP MOU signed with Chinese police. Why is that?"
Carney "We don't make a habit of releasing security documents with with other governments for reasons of operational security that is standard practice for this government previous governments as well So I don't see a reason to change that in in this circumstance"
While in principle, Carney is accurate and it appears routine, this particular deal warrants more transparency given China's track record of proven interference @judyatrinh
Liberal MP Marilyn Gladu used to defend the rights of law-abiding gun owners in Sarnia and across the country. Now, she's shilling for the Liberal gun grab and trying to stop me from asking Sean Fraser about it.
FBI New York, @SDNYnews, @nyspolice, and @ATFNewYork announced the arrests of Malik Bromfield, Faizan Ali, and Kamal Salman, who are charged with attempting to smuggle nearly 90 firearms from the United States to Canada.
"These three defendants, including two foreign nationals, allegedly endangered our communities as they attempted to smuggle 89 firearms - 17 of which were stolen - into Canada," said ADIC Barnacle. "The FBI is committed to working with our federal and state law enforcement partners to take illegal guns off our streets."
