Thank you to everyone who has supported Falls Awareness Week 2024. As we go
Into Saturday and Sunday think about โSafetyโ and what extra mitigations you can put in place to keep people safe in hospital or their own homes to help reduce the risk of falls.
Itโs Falls Friday @MidYorkshireNHS nearly the end of Falls week. Ensure patients assessments are up to date and falls care plans and bedrail assessments have been completed #thinkfalls#fallsfriday#fallsweek
In National Falls week, we've been promoting the things you can do to improve your balance and reduce your risk of falls. Here's a summary of some of the key topics. #YHFalls
Falls risk assessments, care plans and bedrail risk assessments are important for keeping people safe whilst in hospital or at home. Remember in hospital these risk assessments are completed on admission, transfer, weekly, post fall or change in condition.
Yesterday the staff and patients at WICU took part in exercise groups to celebrate National Exercise Day as part of National Falls Week.
Standing and seated group sessions were completed plus a home hazards quiz and falls bingo session. #YHFalls
Dehydration could be a factor that increases a persons risk of falling. Encourage people to drink both in hospital and in their own homes. Assistance should be offered if required. Remember to complete your daily hydration assessments and monitor as required ๐ฅโ๏ธ๐ง๐ฆ #ThinkFalls
Day 4 of #fallsawarenessweek Don't forget, we have our 2nd webinar, "Seeing Falls Differently" at 12pm today. This will led by Julie Windsor @NHSEngland
