Before Google, before maps, before X — there was Dagu. Nomads shared knowledge and information across miles of sand. Every rock, storm, animal path — remembered, spoken, shared. That’s ancient Indegenous intelligence. That’s #Afar. #OralTradition#DAGU
60th Mafaydala Afar indiscriminate Massacre Commemoration of more than 500 Men, Women, and Children, on 23rd July 1964 on the Sacred Eïd Al Adha Day by Somalia Republic Irredentists"Muslim" and Issa-Somalis"Muslim" Militia, on #Muslim Afar. On that day, Afar was the #Somali #irredentism burning offering.
As we solemnly mark the 60th Anniversary of the tragic massacre that claimed the lives of 500 Afar pastoralists, including men, women, and children, and led to the looting of livestock in Mafaydala, located in the Afar region of Ethiopia, it is crucial to acknowledge the brutal assault orchestrated by the irredentist Republic of Somalia forces and Issa militias on the sacred Eid Celebration day of July 23, 1964, with the collaboration of the failed rogue imperial Utopia_Ethiopia that failed on its regalian duty to protect Afar and Ethiopian Territory from a foreign power, The Republic of Somalia.
The heinous events of that day serve as a stark reminder of the profound impact of such atrocities and the need to honour the memory of the innocent victims who lost their lives in a senseless act of violence. Despite the efforts of 80 Afar elders who sought peace through a negotiated agreement with federal governors, their trust was betrayed as they and their people were mercilessly massacred.
The massacre at Mafaydala stands as a dark stain on #Somali #irredentism history, highlighting the injustices and trauma inflicted upon the #Afar community. The suffering endured by the Afar #pastoralists underscores the lasting pain caused by such brutal acts of aggression.
As we pay tribute to the victims of #Mafaydala, we must reassert our commitment to justice, peace, and reconciliation. We must ensure the stories of those who perished are preserved and shared with future generations, fostering a deeper understanding of the past and guiding us towards a more empathetic and inclusive world.
In honouring the memory of the souls lost in Mafaydala, let us stand in unwavering solidarity with the Afar community, advocating for truth, accountability, and a future where such atrocities are never repeated, and the regalian power exercises its duty to protect its territory and people equally. May the sacrifices of our ancestors serve as a beacon, guiding us towards a world where peace and harmony reign supreme and where the memory of those who perished will never be forgotten.

Mustafe Cagjar, pressed by Abiy Ahmed and Somali nationalists including Ahmed Fiqi- Somali's Minister of Foreign Affairs, is caught between a rock and a hard place.
The Afro Asia Institute for Strategic Studies has called for a roundtable discussion in Nairobi, Kenya in mid-July on Afar-Somali conflict in Northeast Ethiopia. While any peace initiative with genuine intention is welcomed and encouraged, this one in Nairobi comes out of the blue with no prior consultation with the Afar side to submit their "version " as the organizers claim to seek. The organizers, hence, have been preoccupied with securing any Afar participation or "representation" at the last minute.

The Republican Guards of Djibouti Military, led by Colonel Mohammed Abdullahi, are participating in the Allied Somali invasion against the Afar. He is one of the Djibouti military higher officials assigned by Djibouti President IOG to massacre the Afar People in Afar Region.

ARDUF strongly believes that the ongoing Afar and Issa-Somali conflict is deeply connected to the old dream of Greater Somalia ideology that caused wars between Ethiopian and Somalia in 1960-1964 border dispute and 1977-1978 Ogaden War.
ARDUF calls on the Ethiopian people, the Ethiopian political parties, NGOs and the Diaspora should know this dangerous development that threatens the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Ethiopia. It is our collective responsibility and obligation to protect our Afarland by providing all possible means and support to ARDUF and the Afar people in their freedom-fighting and resistance against foreign occupation forces.
