Amy Coney Barrett said we do not have a Constitutional crisis. If she said it, it must be so. When the Supreme Court overrules every lower court ruling that defies Trump & upholds every dictatorial edict, we have a Constitutional crisis. If she doesn't know it, she should resign.
The Supreme Court is setting up a de facto presidential dictatorship, in which the president is immune to the law, can openly defy courts with no consequences, and courts are not even empowered to order him to stop disobeying the Constitution.
We don’t give a shit, Mike.
We want our kids and grandkids to have access to 100% of the land we had access to growing up.
Stop trying to “be more clear” and read the room.
Your bill sucks.
Roosevelt understood something Mike Lee doesn’t. Give the people something grand to call their own, and their love for this land won’t be easily shaken by the games of financiers and industrialists. But sell off their patrimony, and what will they care for my property, or yours?
The pope being from Chicago but going to Villanova for undergrad is an enormous L for Notre Dame. Historic fumble. If we can’t recruit in our own backyard…
I’m very happy about our new Pope Leo! As soon as I heard the name Leo, I knew he’d be strong on social justice. Pope Leo XIII started the social justice movement in the Catholic Church by standing on the side of laborers and their right to belong to unions.
After several delays, @DOGE has finally posted its purported savings. Why did it take so long to create a simple webpage with a 1000-row table? Who knows! Let's dig in.
Headline number: $55B saved. They list the savings per nixed contract. This should be easy to verify then.

Sad to say I’m one of the thousands laid off from the Forest Service. The damage to land management agencies alone is pretty staggering, and the move shoots emergency response in the foot by laying off firefighters whose main duties were in other areas (e.g. me in timber)
They just fired 4,400 National Park & Forest Service workers.
🔥 Wildfire prevention? Cut.
🔥 Avalanche safety? Cut.
🔥 Rural jobs? Gone.
All so we can each save a pathetic $1.43. 🤯
Our forests, parks, communities, and our economy are at stake.

.@chrislhayes on how a typo highlights just how wrong the Supreme Court was for overturning the Chevron precedent.
“Going forward when we are trying to figure out, say, how to implement an environmental regulation about clean air, that decision will not be made by the experts whose job it is to understand the issues, but rather by someone like Neil Gorsuch, who doesn’t know the difference between laughing gas and smog.
The Supreme Court made its biggest power grab since 1803 today, giving itself unchallenged power to make rules for the rest of society.
Calling ourselves a democracy after this is a joke. Unelected judges are the rulers now.

Justice Sotomayor's dissent in the homelessness case:
"Sleep is a biological necessity, not a crime. For some people, sleeping outside is their only option. The City of Grants Pass jails and fines those people for sleeping anywhere in public at any time, including in their cars, if they use as little as a blanket to keep warm or a rolled-up shirt as a pillow. For people with no access to shelter, that punishes them for being homeless. That is unconscionable and unconstitutional. Punishing people for their status is 'cruel and unusual' under the Eighth Amendment."
This week I learned that ~80 years ago, my great grandpa worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Massachusetts while trying to secure citizenship in the US. It’s a bit late for an announcement but …
Now that I’m working with the Alabama Conservation Corps, it feels a bit serendipitous that I ended up doing this work. Happy to be carrying on a little family tradition I didn’t even know about!
No to pinkwashing this #PrideMonth, and yes to trans liberation!

I still don’t know what to think of ending my time at ND. All I know is I miss my friends and I need to get groceries for my grandma today. Gap year posting only from now on
