We look forward to this year's Armistice lecture, tomorrow at 6.30pm in Edith Morley G27! Heather Jones's talk will focus on an often-neglected aspect of the conflict: the civilian experience in the Mediterranean. Booking details in the poster! @UniRdg_Lang
"It’s an outdated trope, and it has an impact." This Halloween, we’ll see villains in films and costumes using scars or visible differences to look "scary." It's time to change that.
Our #IAmNotYourVillain campaign calls for more heroes & sidekicks with visible differences. 🦋
Bookings are now open for this year's Armistice guest lecture! On 14th November, Professor Heather Jones' talk will focus on 'The Forgotten Front? The civilian experience of war in the Mediterranean in the First World War'. @WW1POWs@UniRdg_Research@UniRdg_Lang

@MMoffski Annecy in France - it will be less busy towards the end of August! Beautiful lake & mountains, and while we've mostly walked there I'm sure I've seen people cycling around the lake too...otherwise, I found that Lake Garda in Italy is very much geared towards cycling holidays
@RHelsby@UniofReading@UniRdg_Diverse You are brave! It was too hot for me to join! We're lucky to have such a nice campus with many shaded areas to enjoy on a summer's day.

Very excited to have received some great proposals. If you haven't sent yours yet there's still time! We would be particularly interested to have more papers on disability and philanthropy, decolonising philanthropy and how philanthropy is (or isn't) embedded in teaching!
