The LtGov was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Ronald Stewart. He sends condolences to Dr. Stewart's family & loved ones.
Dr. Stewart, the father of emergency medicine, revolutionized healthcare in NS, leaving a lasting impact on public health & medical education.
Appreciated @PLehouxUM's call for "carefulness" while still being open to the possibilities of AI.
The #HTA community is progressing in the AI space, but moving too fast or stepping away from core HTA principles isn't the way forward. As I often said: "thoughtful work ≠ slow"

On Sept. 18, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will publicly apologize for its role, and the role of the medical profession, in the past and ongoing harms to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in the health system.
A suggestion for #CDA_AMC symposium organizers: can @PLehouxUM be part of every plenary, please? A privilege to hear a snippet of her thoughts on the impact of AI technologies on health care and specifically, #HTA#ResponsibleInnovation
Delighted to hear from the brillant @deirdredejean present on a proposed aligned deliberative framework for @CDA_AMC. From a payer perspective, this is robust and thoughtful work that will support our decision-making #CDA_AMC
Refreshing to hear Dan Ollendorf speak about the history of #HTA in the US at the #CDA_AMC symposium. Acknowledging and appreciating the history certainly hasn’t precluded innovation at @icer_review. Also loved the special shout out to Prof David Banta.
@Kellyahan Oh Kelly, that sounds so difficult, but thank you for having the courage to share. I hope that you’re able to establish a plan with this new specialist.

@GuertinJ@cmrherder @CADTH_ACMTS Of course this is because the objectives of HTA and CPG typically differ. It was possible that he held the view that the CPG recommendations should prevail. He didn’t, but I have interacted with many clinical experts who have a position and aren’t willing to budge from that.
