Rodri, if you’re reading this I just want you to know I’ve made peace with it. You can leave my club. It’s your life at the end of the day. Thank you for everything you gave us.

But I find it bizarre. Genuinely strange, almost embarrassing, that you’d force a move to a club that treated you like nothing. A club whose own president doesn’t want you and reportedly has to be convinced to even accept you. A club that hurled all manner of insults at you the moment you won the Ballon d’Or and then had the audacity to boycott the very award you earned.

I don’t think you understand how frustrating this is for the loyal fans who stood by you. Who were with you through your ACL, through the darkest stretch of your career, who defended you against rival fans who mocked and slandered you at every turn.

I don’t think you understand how angry we are.

You could have ranked above the Vincents, the Davids, the Sergios, the Kevins, the Bernardos.
You could have gone down as the greatest player to ever walk through the Etihad. But you won’t. And we won’t ever view you the same way again.

All that added to winning the Euros and Nations League, both in which you won Player of the Tournament in...PLUS you have a Ballon d'Or in the bag, as well as scoring a Champions League winner as you secured a treble for your side, who you then pushed onto four league titles in a row.

Rodri is fucking unreal. How can anyone possibly argue against him? His CV is unrivalled.
