ERC-404: a next 1000x opportunity or just another pump and dump?

What is ERC-404?

ERC-404 is an experimental token standard that aims to bridge fungible tokens and #NFTs to enable liquidity and fractionalization.

A Simple Explanation of ERC-404

When you combine an ERC-20 Token + NFT, then it's an ERC-404 Token.

If:

You hold <1 ERC-404, then it's an ERC-20 token, and it's tradable on Uniswap.

And if you hold >1 ERC-404, then it's an ERC-20 Token + NFT, and the NFT will be tradable on Opensea.

If you Hold 1 ERC-404 + Sell 0.5 ERC- 404 = Burn NFT

If you Hold 0.5 ERC-404 + Buy 0.5 ERC- 404 = Mint NFT

If you Hold 1 ERC-404 + Sell NFT = Sell 1 ERC-404

ERC-404 innovatively blends features from ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards, enabling interaction between traditionally separate elements.

Its unique ERC-721 method utilizes token mints and burns for fractional transfers, breaking away from conventional approaches.

➡️ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲?

While some NFT fractionalization protocols require locking NFTs to issue shares, ERC-404 allows native fractionalization within NFT projects using the standard.

This opens up new opportunities for experimentation and trading NFTs seamlessly.

➡️ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘆 𝗶𝘁?

Since ERC-404 is experimental, many platforms won’t automatically be able to support the standard

However, PANDORA is already trading on decentralized exchanges like
Uniswap and on NFT marketplaces like BLUR and OpenSea.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿:

ERC404 is currently in the experimental phase and has not undergone Ethereum's official processes to become an ERC token.

While it's gaining popularity, there may be unidentified security risks that could emerge later.
