Congratulations to our 2021 LD Seniors! Our former Nye students were cheered through the halls as they took a “Victory Lap” through the Nye building yesterday!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

The Nye band and orchestra students put on a great performance this evening, and welcomed Mr Kerstetter to the stage as session drummer! Mr Hrabric ran away with the show as T-Rex at the conclusion of Jurassic Park theme song!

The Nye Spring Concert was a great success this evening at the park in Hummelstown. Thank you to Mr Irvin and Ms Mars, and congrats to our students on an outstanding performance!

Every student had a hand in creating the art installation in front of Nye Elementary, and it is a vibrant example of our students working together toward a common goal!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

@DavidGeurin Yes! I might add that “covering” the curriculum isn’t enough. If we cover it / present it, but kids didn’t learn it, then we haven’t taught the material, we presented it...and we’re TEACHERS not presenters!

[PA Department of Education @PADeptofEd]

Educators and school leaders across Pennsylvania have tackled indescribable challenges + modeled innovation and flexibility + taken purposeful action to serve and support their students.

Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do.

Nye Students and Families...we're thinking about you! Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you as soon as we can! In the meantime, check out this message from the Nye Staff!

It’s Creation Day for Virtual Spirit Week! Our girls made banana bread and wind chimes...because, what goes better with banana bread than wind chimes?

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

It’s Good Vibes Day for Spirit Week! We’ve GOT this! New challenges? New routines? New ways of teaching and learning? Bring them on! We’ll count the ways they’ve made us BETTER!!!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

Nye Families,
I hope that all of you are doing well, staying safe, and staying healthy! Please consider participating in our "Spirit Week" starting tomorrow, March 30!

I went to the grocery store this morning. Fellow customers wore garden or other gloves, masks, and nervously social distanced. A lot of calm, warm smiles from those working to stock shelves. A sincere THANK YOU to all whose work keeps us all afloat!!!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

@DavidGeurin Rock on with your Crocs on!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

The Nye 5th Graders joined the 6th Graders at the Middle School to preview the MS musical performance “Mulan” this morning. Great performance by the cast and crew, and a great opportunity for Nye 5th Graders to support their LD peers while visiting their future school!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

We are excited to announce our first annual STEAM Day at Nye on March 19th! During the day, students will be engaged in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity as they navigate challenges that include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

Mr. Irvin and our Strings students took advantage of a full cafeteria to get some live practice at lunch today! They played beautifully and our lunchtime audience gave them their full attention! Really cool!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

It was Marvelous Manners Day at Nye today! Our Nye PTO once again turned our cafeteria into a fine dining experience for all of our students, staff, district administrators, board members, and even the Mayor of Hummelstown!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

@Maire_from_NJ Thank you for this description of how readers/consumers of content should approach content of...any source really...Media Literacy is a thing, and we need to empower our students by including it in our teaching...

[Lower Dauphin High School @jhanula]

Our thoughts are with the Miller Family. Thank you Mayor Miller.

[Mr. Irvin @nyeelemmusic]

Thank you so much for being there @RobSchultz19!

[Bryan MacLeod @MacLeodAtNye]

Mrs. Atkinson, Mrs. Martin, and Miss Henry roamed the hallways with the Cheer Cart to deliver treats, coffee, and holiday vibes to teachers this morning!
