Male 🐒 holding a baby civet. Easy to conclude that the 🐒 has some protein for its diet but the Civet kitten is alive and the 🐒 has been carrying it for over 36 hours. Is it using it as a replacement for a dead baby? But 🐒 don’t carry their young in their mouth, Civets do.

Today we're looking at Animal Neighbours Project.

Veterinarian Sharmini Julita Paramasivam started the project in 2014 to increase awareness about coexisting harmoniously with wildlife.

Having worked with macaques for several years in Indonesia, Sharmini felt that more needed to be done to understand the situation and create an action plan for a long term sustainable solution.

Today's spotlight is on Macaca Nemestrina Project, which studies the Southern Pig-tailed #macaque in the wild and facilitates conservation and community engagement to educate about primates.

Barbary macaques are the only species of macaque without a visible tail. They do have a very small tail but you can't see it.

They eat a diet of fruit and vegetables, insects, roots and plants.
