Every year, I make it my goal to teach my kids about having a pink heart. Today, I had a kiddo upset & one of my littles raised his hand & said “Miss. Kilgore, is it ok if I go share my pink heart with him cuz he’s sad?”

Setting 2022 Goals in Kindergarten:

1) Be a better reader
2) Make more new friends
3) Spread kindness to people being upset
4) To be Sonic the Hedgehog for reals
5) To build and live in a house of legos
6) To grow a real unicorn horn

Elf shows up today & we vote on names. Comes down to a tie between “Muscles” & “Chippy” & I panic thinking how to handle this.

Student: “I have an idea, let’s compromise & combine the names & call him “Chuscles”

1. What Kinder says compromise?

At dismissal today, one of my students ran down the hallway screaming, “Bye Miss. Kilgore, I will love you so much until my eyes turn into hearts, forever” and I was reminded why I love my job so much.

I miss their daily jokes. I miss pulling full pencil erasers out of my sharpener. I miss seeing their name tags scattered everywhere on our floor. I miss the arguments over who the line leader is. I miss my kinders and all of these daily problems that right now seem so small 💔
