Acerinox has announced a $200 million investment over the next four years to upgrade Haynes’s production sites in Indiana, Louisiana and North Carolina, with a new vacuum-induction melting furnace, a forge and additional finishing lines.
By comparison, Nippon Steel, to play up the benefits of its proposed acquisition of US Steel, has committed to investing $1.4 billion in union facilities.
