@Manhattva@nickshirleyy At one point I appreciated that SLC was becoming less Mormon but it's gone way too far to the left. I recently moved to Park City from Holladay, and while still predominantly left, there's far less crazies.
@MSGCapital Vile and mentally ill. I recently bought a house in PC and one of the first things I said to my wife was “It’s a good sign the neighbor flies an American flag, it’s a symbol of normalcy.”
Sure, but that poll was quite skewed by the fact it was asked by a PM-focused account on June 4th where Bitcoin was crashing towards yearly lows. Skewed selection of polled subjects combined with concurrent and broad poor sentiment doesn’t provide a clear read.
The equivalent would be for a Bitcoin-focused to run a poll about gold in say October of 2022. I, for one, bought that pessimism on gold and silver at that point. I’m inclined to do the same with BTC soon (while remaining a larger PM bull).
@jaspap27@unusual_whales This is not a theory, this is the reality of the situation. It began with Iran’s intent (via China’s influence) to begin moving trade off the petro-dollar. There are many moving parts to this Cold War with China that are not being spread to media…
This was never about a nuclear deal. This was about China using Iran as a proxy to circumvent global trade off the petro-dollar and onto the Chinese Yuan—this was the explicit goal of the Iranian ‘toll’. It was an act of economic war that attempted to undermine the dollar as the world reserve currency, of which left unchecked, would have severe consequence to the United States.
My experience is that many current sellers are delusional still thinking it’s the sellers market of 2021-2022. Just today I made an offer on a house that was bought for 3.5 in 2022 and is listed for 3.6. I obviously offered less, but they’re stubborn. Concessions sure, but not seeing price move a lot yet.
@elonmusk@SurmountInvest Agree that we will be facing deflation within the coming years. But I’d argue it will be a deflationary bout in which the measures we take to fight it will ultimately lead back to hyperinflation (20%+) by the early 2030s.
FWIW I think this is pretty spot on Chris. I think timeline is a little longer (parabolic towards end of 27'). But the current move has been a well-orchestrated short squeeze where Trump with the help of Bessant have been able to strategically time tweets and news to support the market. They are essentially getting the market as high as possible before further escalation happens in Iran that will likely put in a final bottom later this summer.
Yes, and to reinforce your original point--99 and 07 didn't begin with bell like a new war to ring in the top. In fact, most major tops don't coincide with hyper-visible events. They often begin with optimism and near-full allocation...then fade as a disproportionate number of sellers become available compared to new buyers. Right now, it's the opposite: plenty of buyers sidelined with capital ready to deploy upon any positive developments.
@fireashdustlife@Pentosh1 Sigh.... so you think you see ten times the masks today as pre-2020 because tens time as many are sick? Sorry, no. Also saying 'y'all' tells me all I need to know about your conformity to tribalism. You probably think I'm MAGA, I'm not, I'm just not someone easily influenced.
A lot of people screaming ‘what if they’re sick’. Sure, there were sick people wearing masks even before COVID and there still are. But COVID started a mask wearing trend that was more political and cultural conformity than anything else. The fact is we still see several times the amount of masks as seen before 2020, and while some people may be sick, the majority are people with weak minds that have been permanently influenced by cultural/political trends.
