Gurner Group founder Tim Gurner tells the Financial Review Property Summit workers have become "arrogant" since COVID and "We've got to kill that attitude." https://t.co/lcX3CCxGuj
@bendreyfuss @DirkvanderEst The problem is your confidence in it. Have you been convinced of something before and been wrong? Of course you have.
With the consequences being the death of a person, I think you should have a bit of anxiety about whether what you believe is actually true.
Do you ever feel that older cities are just more interesting than new ones?
Well, it isn't just because they're old.
It's because of something called "vernacular architecture"...
@jacen_knight @cafreiman What's constitutional has little bearing on what we should do. The constitution allowed women to be barred from voting and blacks to be worth 3/5ths of a person.
@JohnsonFrist @MattssonCalle@Paul_Hol1000 "Capitalism" is not an abstract ideology; the term was coined and has always been used as a description of a real system that actually exists. Turning it into an unrealized ideal is just a way to claim credit for the bits you like and deny responsibility for those you don't
@agammamon @cafreiman "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function" - F. Scott Fitzgerald. Recognize your lack of argument and accept the possibility that we both are right and do some research.
@agammamon @cafreiman Also, Braudel is a historian who studied the origins of civilization and capitalism. His 3 volume series "civilization and capitalism" is pretty good. Having read them, Vol 3 is best and stands alone as an excellent analysis. Again, I have pdf's if you'd like them.
@agammamon @cafreiman Haha. If you're interested in this topic I'd read Ware's book "the industrial worker of 1840-1860". He does extensive documentation of journals, newspapers, opinions, and working conditions of americans in the time. I have a pdf if you'd like it.
