I’m still looking for a place to call home.
Right now the shortlist is small and a little strange: El Salvador, Vietnam, Georgia, and Paraguay. Four countries that don’t sit next to each other on any map, and yet each one answers a different question I’ve been carrying around.
El Salvador leads on the things that matter most when you start counting years instead of months — how easily you can stay, and how little the state reaches for income earned somewhere else. Georgia is almost as quiet on worldwide income, though the door in is heavier: you have to buy property that costs more than a simple life would suggest. Vietnam wins on the daily texture of living — the price of ordinary days, the beauty that doesn’t need a postcard to announce itself — but the residency path is narrower, less certain. Paraguay sits in the middle of all of it, neither the easiest nor the hardest, neither the cheapest nor the most dramatic. A balanced country for someone who hasn’t decided what balance should look like yet.
None of this is settled. There’s still time to choose, still time to be wrong, still time to walk the streets of one of them and feel whether the air fits.

Yes, you’re right. I’m not a trader — I only lose money trading. But with Backpack you can steadily grow your portfolio. For the first time in my life I got stocks, received the most profitable card, started actively using the wallet, and it turned out to be a great experience.
