This @DEFCON, I saw my work, "The (Un)Natural History of Malware", in physical form for the very first time.

It was surreal and wonderful to watch people gather around the @NoStarch booth, flip through the book, and pick up a copy of their own.

I signed books on all three days of @DEFCON, at both the vendor area and the @MalwareVillage. Beforehand, I practiced drawing every Malmons featured in @Malmons_World (https://t.co/jd8D5o2w66), so that when I signed each book, I could sketch the reader's favorite Malmons on the spot. Doing it without a table to lean on was a challenge, but I gave it my best!

"The (Un)Natural History of Malware" took over a year of intense focus, hand-drawing over 100 pieces of Victorian-style art. Along the way, I visited natural history museums around the world and spent time immersed in nature to draw inspiration for the book.

Thank you all so much for the incredible support that brought this book to life.

(Finally home, I got to show the physical book to my wife and my ball python. My wife was the one who encouraged me to do the signing, we even moved our honeymoon, which we'd originally booked over the same days as hacker summer camp, so I could be there. She's so proud, and I couldn't have done it without her. 💙)
