CHEF HERE, here are some helpful tips below. Washing alone is NOT enough to kill this parasite, must be cooked. Also shopping at your local farmers market is safer but not 100% in the clear
Every once in a while you work at a company that only hires people who know what they're doing, and suddenly its 20 people doing the same work as 400 somewhere else. There's zero meetings, everyone talks once a week on slack, and you go huh, how much garbage is there actually.
my therapist changed my life when he taught me there are 4 types of conversation:
1) small talk (weather, etc)
2) swapping (you tell a story, I tell a story)
3) listening (you tell a story, I listen/validate)
4) problem-solving (you tell me a story, I help solve the problem)
Obsessed with the old school butchers, shoe guys and mom and pop stores in ny neighborhood still creating their shit on MS Word or by hand...these are all so much cooler
So i bought a storage unit lot at auction like those TV shows. Paid $200. Inside was just boxes and boxes of ceramic frogs. Like 300 ceramic frogs. Different sizes. All frogs. I was going to throw them out but posted them on Facebook Marketplace as a joke: "300 frogs, free, take all or none." A woman messaged me in ALL CAPS immediately. Drove three hours to pick them up. Started CRYING when she saw them. Turns out these were her late mother's collection that her brother sold without telling her. She'd been searching for two years. Gave me $2,000 cash on the spot. Then her brother found out and threatened to sue me. The woman is counter-suing him. I might have to testify in frog court.
To me "I said" is a direct quote as it was delivered in the moment and "I was like" is a general paraphrasing of what I said that may include my interior emotional response plus the general unspoken vibe of the interaction

i am often on my knees begging for volunteers to read poems aloud in my undergrad classes, but whenever we get to this little delight, suddenly everyone is moved by the spirit to perform
We need to bring back intellectual elitism. Sorry, but a virologist will always know more about vaccines than a yoga mommy blogger with a ChatGPT Plus subscription.
I buy my golf balls off an old white guy in a rite aid parking lot 😂. He is a country club member and people will just hit pro v1s everywhere and leave em. So he picks them up, cleans them at the crib and sells them for the absolute low.
