I am thrilled to announce I will be starting my own lab this spring in the Center for Regenerative Medicine and Skeletal Development at @uconnhealth! Incredibly grateful for all who have supported me to this point, this is a dream come true!

Always great meeting new friends, and even better seeing old ones! Congrats @DrBenKirk on your well-deserved awards! Even though we nearly burnt the house down (@DrGustavoDuque@DrAhmedAlSaedi)
Was so honored to receive the #ASBMR2024 Most Outstanding Translational Abstract Award; a result of the wonderful mentorship of @skhosla78 and team at @MayoClinic. Looking forward to many more meetings to come representing @uconnhealth!
Effect of senolytics (D+Q) on bone metabolism in postmenopausal women – a phase 2 RCT. Findings indicate that D+Q increased bone formation but did not reduce bone resorption. The clinical response to senolytics is driven by underlying senescent cell burden

Huge effort by @dominiksaul88, which included a transcontinental flight from Germany to Minnesota for a final set of experiments. Big thanks to all involved!
New manuscript co-led with @skhosla78 and the man himself @dominiksaul88 where we define senescence in the healing fracture callus at the single-cell level! @MayoClinic@jclinicalinvest

Finally published in #JCI P21+ senescent cells play a crucial role in fracture healing:

Targeting these cells potentially boosts fracture healing 🦴. Thanks to @MadisonDoolitt3@skhosla78 and the @MayoClinic#aging#fracture#bone
And of course this couldn't have been possible without my incredible support system of family and friends. Big shoutout to Kelsey and Preston for supporting me all these years (and surviving the Minnesota winters). Can't wait for us to start this new chapter!

It has been an amazing 4 years at Mayo Clinic that I will forever cherish. I can't thank @skhosla78 enough for taking a bet on me and teaching me all there is to know about academic research. It has been one of the best experiences of my life.
Excited to share our most recent work, together with @dominiksaul88 and @skhosla78, on deeply characterizing #senescence during fracture healing. We find the cells delaying repair are a diverse mix of p21+ cells, which can be targeted to enhance healing.

Our new preprint sheds light on the distinct role of p16- and p21-associated SASP across tissues and species.
