@alexkniv @KatieWPowell I think it is hard to determine what steps need to be taken as far as the government is concerned. I think we need to spread awareness about the rights being violated and then go from there
@KateBar97045573@KatieWPowell although we can not stop people from committing these horrible acts, seeking justice for those who suffered from sexual assault through the law shows action rather than comforting words.
@BethanySee12@KatieWPowell with someone who is such a powerful figure, comes responsibility to keep their platform professional and welcoming to everyone. Twitter is a popular platform that should not be used for hateful speech. I don't understand his intent to keeping certain comments unregulated.
@KaraStock7@KatieWPowell eliminating the use of plastic is one of the most obvious answers to protecting our oceans. It is also one of the easiest to do in my opinion - if everyone (individuals and companies in general) worked a little harder to be more material conscious, that already shows improvement
@Taylor_green22@KatieWPowell Overall people will do what they want to do whether or not it is legal. That will lead to people getting abortions in very dangerous ways. It is not worth the health of the mother to discontinue access to this right.
@KateMcL54975894@KatieWPowell as social media has grown over the past decades, people (especially young minds) have been relying on information from influencers as truth. With such a big platform, Kanye needs to be more mindful about what he's highlighting to the public - kids are very impressionable.
@MarinaP28161091@KatieWPowell I think if they are not able to get the school on board, they should start their own diversity day held outside of school - it is unfortunate that the school is over looking this; students need to be able to celebrate this in whatever forms they can
@LaurenJaegerUC@KatieWPowell promoting the fact that people need to be reformed rather than barred is crucial. I get the idea that their actions are on going/ that they are not learning from their mistakes - but why cant they learn? Rehab and other sources may be a better first step than life long sentences
@BriannaMarie_m@KatieWPowell I think this piece is impactful because it is "hard to look at". What's being portrayed is very dark, resentful, and raw - people need to be exposed to work that is more "in your face" in order to touch the heart deeper
@BridgetAnneCar1@KatieWPowell I think people need to stop undermining the importance of therapy. Everyone needs access to a safe outlet - personally I (along with many loved ones) have benefitted from discussing personal issues with a trained professional
@OliviaDozier7@KatieWPowell I think marijuana should be legalized because it is linked with decrease in crime rates. People are going to get it one way or another, so why not regulate it in a safer manner? People will be less inclined to access it through dangerous means.

is conversation about sex ed between parents + children an effective tool to prevent pregnancy/STIs? is it reasonable for parents to choose not to discuss this with their kids? @KatieWPowell#ucengl2144
@GreenwaldEllie@KatieWPowell I think a lot kids feel that they can't be open with their parents/adults in their life about their mental health. On a smaller scale, I think if parents/adult figures in their life are more proactive about checking in and promoting a safe space, some children might open up more
@KCSChicago33@KatieWPowell Whether we like it or not, there are 2 sides to everything and everybody has their own opinion on the matter. Just like you have a right to your own opinion, these media personalities do as well. As long as they are remaining respectful and accurate, I see no issue w objectivity
@EliUC27@KatieWPowell Personally I prefer knobs over buttons because I tend to use the controls in my car (volume, air) without looking since I am so used to my car. Using touchscreen makes it that much harder to multitask while driving since I have to take my eyes off the road to look at the screen.
