Proposal: We, as a planet, should have Olympic PTO. Because I’m literally not getting a thing done at work and I know everyone else isn’t either. Tbh it’s pretty unpatriotic to expect me to work right now.
In lieu of #blackmaternalhealthweek my article of my birth story was published in today’s paper. I’m simply in awe and so elated that my story is continuing to be read and the importance of advocacy for black women in childbirth is being highlighted and shared. 🥹
I had the great opportunity to share my story with the Philadelphia Inquirer. I hope this brings the awareness and importance for advocacy for black women in pregnancy.
There are more than 150 medical schools in the U.S., but to this day, two HBCUs, Howard & Meharry medical schools, still produce the MOST Black physicians. It’s past time for PWIs to step up & commit to educating a diverse workforce. HBCUs can’t continue to do the heavy lifting.
