Here are 5 things to think about this October 🍂👇

1. The clocks go back one hour at 2am on October 25.⏰

2. Free flu vaccines are available for many eligible people from 1 October. Check if you’re eligible and book your appointment if needed. 🦠

3. If you need to complete a Self Assessment tax return for the first time, make sure you register by 5 October. 💻

4. As temperatures start to fall, check whether you’re eligible for support with your energy bills.🧣

5. Check guidance on fireworks ahead of Diwali, Halloween and Bonfire Night. 🎆

It is heartwarming to see the various initiatives by our NNPP lawmakers in the National Assembly in intervening to settle tuition fees for students in various higher education institutions.

This, very much aligns with the Kwankwasiyya tenet of putting Education at the core of our investment for a prosperous future.

I also look forward to the send-forth of the first set of students that will depart Nigeria to further their education in universities abroad, under sponsorship of the Kano State Government.

As I emphasise, a genuine and encompassing investment in education will continue to yield great results for our people. - RMK

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Dr Olga Kennard OBE FRS, founder of the Cambridge Structural Database. Our thoughts and condolences extend to Dr Kennard’s family and friends at this time.
